Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd. was awarded the ‘‘Key Supporter of Saint Pantateon Hospital’ award. The award was presented at the traditional Semmelweis Day ceremony held by the hospital in Dunaújváros, Hungary, in recognition of the company's efforts to contribute to high-quality healthcare.
Since 1992, healthcare workers have been celebrated every year on 1 July, Hungarian Healthcare Day. On this day, professional awards are presented to healthcare workers and commemorative ceremonies are held throughout the country.
At the Semmelweis Day event held by the hospital in this year, a new tradition was started: in addition to recognizing their own employees, they awarded for the first time their supporters who are committed to contribute the hospital operations.
Dr. Örs Szilágyi, Director General of the Saint Pantaleon Hospital said:
We are very grateful for the help and committment of Hankook Tire Hungary. We are working together for a joint goal to improve continuously the standard of healthcare and thus create value for local citizen, help them in maintaining their health and in getting better. Hankook’s Corporate Social Responsibility sets an example to all. We are happy to award Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd. As the first company with the ’Key Supporter of Saint Pantateon Hospital’ award.
On behalf of the company, Ho Taek Lim, Managing Director of Hankook Tire's Hungary Plant, received the award from Dr. Örs Szilágyi.
‘We are honoured to receive this recognition from Saint Pantaleon Hospital. At Hankook, we believe in long-term partnerships and consider the health of the people living here, our employees and their families to be our most important investment, which is why we intend to continue supporting local initiatives and institutions in the future,’ said the Managing Director.
With this award, the hospital aims to thank all those who have been supporting the institution's work for many years. This year, Hankook Tire supported the purchase of equipment for the paediatric ward, and in 2024, at the initiative of an employee, it installed a nurse call system in the surgical ward. In previous years, the company contributed to the purchase of a ventilator and participated in the renovation of the maternity ward, while during the pandemic it provided protective equipment for the institution.
The ‘Key Supporter of Saint Pantateon Hospital’ award recognises Hankook's many years of support for local healthcare and the community.
