Seoul, Korea, July 14, 2025 — Global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) delivered a standout performance at Formula E 2025 Hankook Berlin E-Prix—Rounds 13 and 14 of the 2024/2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (hereafter Formula E)—as the all-electric series powered through its penultimate double-header of the season.
Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy secured crucial victories in Round 13 and Round 14 respectively in Berlin, reshaping the championship leaderboard and intensifying the title fight ahead of the London finale. Oliver Rowland continues to hold the lead in the drivers' standings with 184 points, followed closely by Pascal Wehrlein with 125 points. In the teams’ standings, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team extended its advantage with 226 points.
Set against the industrial backdrop of the historic Tempelhof Airport, this year’s Berlin E-Prix proved once again to be one of the most physically demanding stops on the calendar. The circuit’s coarse concrete slabs, originally designed for military aircraft, placed immense strain on tires—testing grip retention, surface stability, and braking endurance across two action-packed race days.
Hankook’s GEN3 Evo iON Race tire, developed exclusively for Formula E’s GEN3 Evo race cars, played a vital role in Berlin. The tire’s specially engineered rubber compound and advanced tread profile delivered reliable grip and thermal control, enabling consistent performance even under the punishing track surface and fluctuating track temperatures. Drivers praised the tire’s stability through high-speed corners and heavy braking zones, as well as its control over off-line dust patches that tested grip consistency throughout the race.
DS Penske driver Maximilian Günther remarked, “It gave me the consistency I needed across both races—and that kind of trust in a tire is key at this point in the championship. Racing here on home soil always means a lot to me—so to feel that level of confidence in the car and tires was really special.”
As the final race of Season 11 to carry Hankook’s title sponsorship, the 2025 Hankook Berlin E-Prix marked a celebratory milestone in the company’s partnership with Formula E—reinforcing its leadership in sustainable, high-performance electric motorsport innovation. With only two races (a double-header) remaining, the championship now advances to its decisive finale in London, where Hankook remains committed to powering every turn, brake, and victory lap on the road to crowning the Season 11 champion.
